March 2009
The R.A.F. Beach Units website is re-published with a new structure and additional content. Originally, the website focussed on the R.A.F. Beach Squadrons that took part in the Normandy Invasion in 1944. From this starting point I began to research more widely into the history of R.A.F. beach units and this has now caused me to redesign the site in order to begin presenting a more complete history of R.A.F. beach units. The changes are too numerous to detail, but as an aid to navigating through the new structure, a site map facility can be selected on the Home page.
These changes have been a long time coming because I have limited time available to work on this project. The job is not complete. I will be adding more but can’t promise when.
Since I launched this site early in 2007 I have been contacted by a number of people who have found the information to be of interest and value. This has been very encouraging. Also, some of my correspondents have been kind enough to share information with me and, in a few cases, give their consent to personal material being published on this site. Many thanks to them for helping to make this website more interesting and complete.
